Office 365 Student FAQs and Tutorials
How do I access my Office365 Account?
You can access Office 365 from the Lindenwood.edu main page email link near the top of the screen.
You may also access Office 365 from the Student Portal under the Student Services
You can also access your email and calendar via the web at http://portal.office.com.
Will any of my information be lost in the migration?
No, you will retain access to all your files. You will also retain access to your Lionmail account until December 31st 11:59 pm.
Will I use the same username and password as my Lionmail account?
Yes, you will use the same username and password you used to access Lionmail to access Office 365.
Will my Office 365 login credentials work for other Lindenwood systems I use?
You will use your credentials to access the following systems;
- Student Portal
- Cashnet 1098T
- CollegiateLink (Involve U)
- Workday HCM
If you have used your Lindenwood University login credentials for the following applications, you will need to contact them directly to update your information.
Go to https://www.dropbox.com/account/profile and change your email address.
Macmillan Learning (Launchpad tools in Canvas)
Students can login using an old email address. To update your email address contact Technical Support at 800-936-6899.
If you would like to update your email address, after entering the McGrawHill site through a Canvas course, click on My Account to update.
There is no impact to accessing the tools but to update your email address, you will need to contact Pearson through their support page: https://www.pearsonmylabandmastering.com/northamerica/students/support/ , or use the SmartThinking support page,http://smarthinking.echelp.org/ .
Login to ProctorU , go to Account Settings and check your email address. If you used Lionmail ,
you may change it to your new email address here.
How long will I have access to Lionmail?
All Lionmail accounts with the exception of student accounts in the Education programs will be removed on December 31, 2017 at 11:59 pm.
How do faculty and staff access the student address list in Outlook?
Faculty and staff should
Select To: in the email address bar
Select the drop down arrow under Address Book
Select Student Address List
How do I Forward My Lionmail to Outlook?
You can choose to forward all of your new messages to another email address, or only forward certain types of messages.
Set up automatic forwarding
You can automatically forward your messages to another address. You can choose to forward all new messages, or just certain ones.
Note: You can only set up forwarding on your computer, and not on the Gmail app.
Note: When your new messages are forwarded, messages from spam won't be included.
Turn on automatic forwarding
1. On your computer, open Gmail using the account you want to forward messages from. You can only forward messages for a single Gmail address, and not an email group or alias.
2. In the top right, click Settings .
3. Click Settings.
4. Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
5. In the "Forwarding" section, click Add a forwarding address.
6. Enter the email address you want to forward messages to.
7. Click Next Proceed OK.
8. A verification message will be sent to that address. Click the verification link in that message.
9. Go back to the settings page for the Gmail account you want to forward messages from, and refresh your browser.
10. Select Forward a copy of incoming mail to.
11. Choose what you want to happen with the Gmail copy of your emails. We recommend Keep Gmail's copy in the Inbox.
12. At the bottom of the page, click Save Changes.
Only forward certain kinds of messages
If you only want to forward certain kinds of messages to another account, create a filter for these messages. When you're setting up your filter, you can choose what email address to forward these messages to. If you don't see an email address to forward messages to, follow the steps above to turn on forwarding.
Note: You can only create up to 20 filters that forward to other addresses.
How do I save contacts from Lionmail?
To save your contacts, export your contacts into a csv file, then import them into the new account. Google Support
Step 1: Export existing Gmail contacts into a CSV file
1. Go to the old version of Google Contacts.
2. In the top left, click More Export.
3. Select which contacts to export.
"My Contacts" are contacts you created.
"All contacts" are contacts you created and Other Contacts you’ve emailed.
1. Select Google CSV format.
2. Click Export.
3. In the top right, click your photo, then click Sign out.
Step 2: Import the file
1. Go to the old version of Google Contacts.
In the top left, click More Import.
2. Click Choose File.
3. Select your CSV file.
4. Click Import.
How do I move my documents from Google Drive to Office 365?
To move all your Google Drive documents, Download Google Drive - Free Cloud Storage
Install and sign in to the Google Drive app with the Lionmail account.
Let it sync with the Drive on the cloud. Be positive you know where the local folder is created on your machine. - It’s different for Windows and Mac.
You now have all your Drive files.
To get the files into your new Office 365 OneDrive, you can upload them using the normal web interface.
Warning: When it’s syncing many files to the cloud, Google Drive app can slow down your machine - severely. Syncing a few files here and there for daily use causes no issues at all. But depending on several variables: your hardware, OS, internet connection, and how much data you are syncing… a big move like this one can make normal internet use almost impossible for a few hours. Even overnight - until the sync is done.
I'm an education student, will I still have access to Google Apps for Education?
Yes, all other Lionmail accounts with the exception of student accounts in the Education programs will be removed on December 31, 2017 at 11:59 pm. Education students will retain access to both Lionmail and Office 365 accounts.
